Better representation begins with better assessment
People with skin of colour are often underserved by the aesthetic laser industry—or given oversimplified answers about what is “safe.” BeauDerma is committed to a more careful conversation. Safety depends on the person, concern, wavelength, energy, recent sun exposure, technique and the skin’s tendency to pigment after inflammation.
Our approach
- Objective melanin measurement with Skintel where relevant
- Technology and wavelength selection for the individual concern
- Conservative starting parameters and patch testing when indicated
- Attention to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation risk
- Preparation and aftercare that prioritize barrier support and sun protection
- A clear explanation when a treatment should be delayed, modified or avoided
Technology options
Elite iQ includes a 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength commonly considered for hair reduction in darker skin types when used appropriately. Potenza RF microneedling is designed for use across skin types. PicoSure Pro applications vary by handpiece and indication; suitability is determined treatment by treatment. We will never turn a portfolio-level capability into a blanket promise.
What we can explore
Unwanted hair and ingrown hair, selected pigmentation, post-acne marks, acne scars, uneven texture, pores, fine lines and tattoo fading. Medical or unstable skin concerns may require referral first.
